Environmental Consultancy Services for FEED for New Crude Oil Storage Tanks at Khatya Main and Jaleha, Qatar

Aiming to improve reliability and integrity of crude oil storage system, Qater Petroleum carried out the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) for existing crude oil storage tanks replacement at Khatiyah Main Degassing station and Jaleha main degassing station, located in Dukhan.

As part of its Engineering Consultancy Services, Energoprojekt ENTEL prepared environmental documentation and performed necessary calculations according to QP Guidelines and Qatar regulation. The scope of services included project activities’ review and identification of potential negative impacts on the environment during construction and operation phase. Depending on the estimated level of environmental impact, necessary control measures were defined in order to prevent, mitigate or eliminate pollutant emission. VOC emission levels were calculated for each tank using Storage Tank Emissions Calculation Software, designed by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), based on the emission estimation equations developed by the American Petroleum Institute (API).
