Consultancy Services for Seawater Desalination and Power Generation Plant in Duqm, Oman

The Project addresses Engineering, Procurement & Construction of new desalination plant of the 6000 m3/day output capacity. The plant shall be based on the Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology and source of raw water is from Sea. The Scope of Work for the Main Contractor shall comprise the following:

  • Sea Water Intake System (1.3 km inside the sea)
  • Raw Water Supply System
  • Pre-Treatment Facilities (Microfilteration)
  • RO Plant (3 x 2000 m3/day of product water)
  • Post Treatment Facilities
  • Product Water Export System
  • Brine Reject System
  • Power Supply to Desalination Plant (Substation for Desalination Plant)
  • Instrumentation and Control
  • Buildings and Structures
  • Building Services
  • Infrastructure Facilities and Utility Systems.

The power plant shall have a capacity of 27 MW. Four (4) Nos of Diesel Generators (DG) with auxiliary systems are to be relocated from Sur Power Station to Duqm Power Station, the capacity of DG set varying from 7eMW to 5eMW.
