10 Construction of new 350 MW Unit in TPP Gacko

Construction of additional 350 MW unit in TPP Gacko, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The new unit (i.e. TPP Gacko II) is envisaged as a replacement unit for the currently operating 300 MW TPP Gacko I. The new unit shall be located in TPP Gacko complex which currently facilitates TPP Gacko I.

Through the construction of TPP Gacko II, the Opencast mine and TPP Gacko seek to maximize its available accumulation and to invest that capital into development and improvement of energy sector of the Republic Srpska, with an aim of implementing its market potential and achieving the long-term benefits. Having in mind that initial design of TPP Gacko had foreseen construction of 4 Units with rated output of 300 MW each, planned to be erected in two phases, the space for the new unit has already been dedicated to the construction of another unit, with infrastructure and certain common facilities already built for the second phase of construction. There is no need for any further land acquisition or rental for the purpose of the new Unit construction.

The new unit shall operate for about 7,900 h per year during the first ten years, then about 7,200h during the next ten years. In the last five years of analyzed period the unit shall operate for 6,500 h per year.
