Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) S.A.O.C is in a need to provide additional demand capacity in the area of Sur and Ayjah to supply local demand and provide the opportunity to de-load the existing Sur grid station in such manner that it will comply with Transmission Security Standards (TSS) requirements for the medium-long term. The OETC grid station at Sur supplies the local Mazoon Electricity Company SAOC (MZEC) distribution network in the Sur and Ayjah areas as well as surrounding locations. Additionally, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the Sur Grid station to supply the MZEC network, particularly at distant substation locations where 33kV voltage is low at times of high and peak demands.
The Project Scope includes construction of new 132/33 kV Grid station at Al Ayjah, installation of double circuit 132 kV overhead line from new 220/132 Sur Grid Station to Al Ayjah 132/33 kV S/S and installation of 132 kV Circuit breakers, Control & Relay panels and other related works.
Services provided
- Preparation of Tender documents/drawings.
- Bid Evaluation and tender clarifications.
- Recommend the preferred Bidder to the client based on the Bid Evaluation and the Procedures mentioned by Client.
- Design review of the documents/drawings prepared by the Contractors design Consultant. Vendor approvals and review of vendor drawings.
- Supervision of the site construction works; testing and commissioning of equipments
- Variation Order approvals and advising OETC to various Financial and Legal activities related to financial close of the project.
Technical data
- Part I: Construction of one new 132/33 kV Grid station at Al Ayjah with 2 Nos 125 MVA transformers.
- Part II: Installation of double circuit 132 kV overhead line from new 220/132 Sur Grid Station to Al Ayjah 132/33 kV S/S including connection of 220/132 kV GS and Terminal tower at SUR end.
- Part III: 132 kV Circuit breakers, Control & Relay panels and other related works required for connecting Al Ayjah 132 kV feeder at new 220/132 kV GS are included in new 220/132 Sur Grid Station.
