Energoprojekt ENTEL was awarded a contract to perform Consultancy Studies for undergrounding of existing 400 kV overhead lines in the Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum District One area, in order for the area to be cleared in view of real-estate development. The 400 kV Undergrounding Works will also require further modifications of the 400 kV Merkhad/Bukhidra, Najma and Horse Race substations and construction of Transition Stations to accommodate the connection of future 400 kV Cable circuits.
As part of the overall Scope of Works of 400 kV OHL Undergrounding Works, for the purpose of availing the requisite space for the proposed further development of the Merkhad/Bukhidra 400 kV substations, where the surrounding areas are heavily congested with several underground and above ground utilities, a total of fifteen (15) nos. 132 kV cable circuits are required to be partially diverted around the development area.
The scope of the Consultancy Contract consists of the following stages:
First Stage – Consultancy Services for study, design and recommend all necessary works required for diversion, installation and operation of the 132 kV cable circuits at Merkhad /Bukhidra Substations.
Second Stage – Consultancy Services for Implementation of the EPC Contract for Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning for 132kV Cable Diversion Works at Merkhad /Bukhidra Substations.
